On April 19th, the 2019 Development Forum of China's Botanic Beverage Industry was successfully held in Haikou, Hainan. Chinese beverage giants such as Pepsi China, Yili, Yangshengtang (NongfuShan Spring), Yinlu Group, Wang Laoji and Vitamin Milk have gathered to discuss the development of this industry. Prof. Yan Weidong, the Chief Scientist of Skyherb and Dean of Enterprise Research Institute was honored to be a guest speaker, and delivered a speech on "Functional Botanic Ingredients - Re-interpretation of Functional Botanic Drinks".
In his speech, Prof. Yan mentioned the increase of healthy and natural diet consumption, and the trend of choosing natural products. With the rapid revival of natural supplement ingredients, more and more international food and beverage giants began to incorporate functional botanic ingredients into their new products. In 2018, China's total export of botanic extracts reached 2.368 billion US dollars. Market segmentation and diversification is a new trend of domestic beverage market. Food enterprises expect to create the next 10 billion drink by a more compact arrangement.
In addition, Prof. Yan pointed out that the current technical challenges of botanic extracts in beverage applications and how to solve a series of technical and regulatory problems are the most concerned issues of many food and beverage manufacturers. He also shared the successful application of customized development cases from Skyherb, and highlighted some breakthrough solutions. Such as using Circle Continuous Countercurrent extraction, SCC rotary cone distillation to replace traditional extraction process in order to retain more effective ingredients.
As a manufacturer focusing on botanic active ingredients, Skyherb has been committed to bring natural and healthy materials to our customers, and bring more products and value to the whole industry.
